Montreal-based bitcoin company, Shakepay, is collaborating with Montreal street art veterans, Project Tyxna, to create an artwork inspired by the “Bitcoin Golden Age” that will pay visitors to sign up with Shakepay. The mural, located on the side of Moog Audio at 3828 St Laurent Blvd, has a secret. Spot and scan the embedded “wall to wallet” QR code, and you’ll receive $30 after signing up for Shakepay and buying your first $100 of bitcoin.
Plus, customers get free bitcoin every day just for shaking their phone. The feature, called #shakingsats, is only activated when you refer a friend or sign up through a referral link (yes, signing up via the mural’s QR code counts).
The Shakepay app is Canada’s easiest way to buy and earn bitcoin. The app takes a few minutes to set up, is user-friendly, safe, secure, and there is a support chat on the desktop version that answers any of your questions immediately - which is exactly what any bitcoin beginner needs. Those new to bitcoin are in good company.

Shakepay’s managed to create an involved and supportive community that shares their genuinely great values. This is represented in the artwork at the Mural festival which they say “represents an attitude shift about spending and saving for a better future—and besides, what’s a financial renaissance without art?” They are truly loud believers of the Bitcoin Golden Age. Shakepay’s mission statement is to “usher in the Bitcoin Golden Age” '' and the service they provide reflects this very well.
Shakepay also has one of Canada’s only bitcoin cashback credit cards, giving customers up to 2% cashback on every transaction in bitcoin, and they even randomly reimburse entire purchases made with the Shakepay card with a feature they call #shakepaid.
Sounds too good to be true? Don't worry, the company employees don’t go to bed hungry, Shakepay earns profits on the spread of crypto orders placed on the platform, as many exchanges do. That’s the mystery solved.
The app is very secure, having recently gained SOC 2 Type 1 attestation. They are also regulated by FINTRAC and the Autorite Des Marches Financiers and you can check their registration numbers on the site. The company is transparent about the fact that they do not use fractional reserves and that the currency is stored in a cold wallet. Music to the ears of any crypto user.
The company was launched in 2015 and they keep on growing! They do have some open positions going on (visit their website for more details).
The statistics speak for themselves—Shakepay has over 1 million users who have bought and sold $7B of digital currency through the Shakepay platform.
