There is no better time to start a little spring cleaning in Montreal. With the city being on “pause”, most streets around town are empty and it is the perfect occasion for Montreal to start cleaning its streets and filling potholes, weather permitting.
The city announced today they will begin cleaning the streets effective tomorrow and at the same time launch their annual pothole repair blitz. According to city officials, the cleaning crews will start with major arteries including Sherbrooke St, Papineau St or René-Lévesque. Priority will also be given to sidewalks and bike paths.
Smaller streets will be taken care of as of May 1st. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cleaning and filling of the potholes was delayed and should have started on April 1st. According to the city, each year around 200,000 potholes are filled by city workers
