According to Mylène Drouin, head of the public health for the region of Montreal, the peak of the outbreak could be reached very soon. However, with 4,775 confirmed cases for Montreal as of today, she insists it is critical people continue practicing safe social distancing to make sure the number of new infections doesn’t reach new highs.
With Passover and Easter fast approaching, it is important people stay home and continue to be vigilant over the weekend. According to Mylène Drouin, Montreal could be reaching the peak a week before the April 18thpeak projected for the province of Quebec…meaning Montreal would be reaching the peak between tomorrow and the end of the week! "The number of people infected is probably at its highest level," she said. "This is good news, because after we can expect a decline in the curve."
The city of Montreal renewed its state of emergency for five additional days. In total the city counts 74 deaths related to COVID-19, with the average age of the victims being 82.
Are we finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?
