Pierre Fitzgibbon, minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade just announced malls will finally reopen on June 19th for the Greater Montreal Area. Food courts inside malls will have to wait until June 22nd, following the reopening date for all restaurants across the city and surroundings.
Stores will have to follow strict sanitary regulations and will have to implement “separators” at cash registers and only authorize a limited number of customers at all times. Malls outside of the Greater Montreal Area already reopened June 1st.
Minister Fitzgibbon feels now is the right time to reopen malls in the greater Montreal as they play a major role in the retail industry. Will you be going to the mall a week from now? Or will you be waiting an extra few weeks, months?
