François Legault just announced schools and daycares will start reopening on May 11th for the province of Quebec, with the exception for the greater Montreal area for which schools with reopen on May 19th. This decision will remain as is only if the current COVID-19 situation in the province’s hospitals remains unchanged.

Class sizes will have to meet 15 students maximum in order to be able to operate while respecting social distancing rules according to François Legault. Daycare workers will have to wear masks. It is important to note parents will have the right to choose if they want to send their kids to schools or not. Sending their kids back to school or daycare will be optional, not mandatory.

High schools, CEGEPS and Universities will remain closed until September as older students use public transit more frequently, according to François Legault.

Will you be sending your kids back to school?
